teacher and students in a classroom

Pupils whose mother tongue is a language other than Finnish or Swedish can apply for their mother tongue classes.

Mother tongue classes are voluntary, but once the student is registered, participation in the classes is compulsory.

Studying takes place in groups of at least four and is organized 2×45 min per week. The classes are usually organized after school, either in the pupil’s own school or in another school designated for the classes.

There is no fee, but parents are responsible for transporting students to class, if necessary.
