
During the week Hämeenlinna will host a variety of events, activities and workshops that promote equality and diversity. The arrangements are made in collaboration with Tavastia Education Consortium, Häme University of Applied Sciences (HAMK), Hämeen Setlementti ry, SKY – Hämeenlinna, the Finnish Red Cross Hämeenlinna branch and various departments of the City of Hämeenlinna.

Monday, March 17
- Open Being Space at Ohjaamo from 4 PM to 8 PM: The Open Being Space for young adults will focus on Week Against Racism. The evening’s program will be specified later.
Tuesday, March 18
- International Living Room (KV-olkkari): come for coffee and tea, to chat and do textile work. Kumppanuustalo, 3 PM – 5:30 PM (Hämeen Setlementti ry, City of Hämeenlinna)
- MOSAIC (HAMK Multicultural Saga): join us to experience different flavors, music, art and dance performances from different cultures. Welcome to a celebration of experiences! 4 PM at HAMK’s Visamäki campus (HAMK)
Wednesday, March 19
- Equality at Work Training: Entrepreneur and change management coach Rajkumar Sabanadesan, who came to Finland as a refugee in the 90s and has worked as a reception center director. He is no longer in contact with his relatives in Sri Lanka but dedicates his time to his current family and helping people. - International Culture Evening: a variety of multicultural programs, music and performers available, from 5 PM to 7 PM at the main library (Oppien osallisuuteen project, library)
- Friend Café: coffee and chatting in a good company!, from 6 PM to 8 PM at Hämeen Suoja, Palokunnankatu 4 (SKY, HVS project, Hämeen Setlementti ry, ELY Center, City of Hämeenlinna)
- ARX Evening from 4 PM to 6 PM, featuring soundscapes and Week Against Racism. Cultural Center ARX, Viipurintie 4
Thursday, March 20
- ARX Morning from 10 AM to 12 PM, featuring soundscapes and Week Against Racism. Cultural Center ARX, Viipurintie 4
- Language Café: discuss and get to know other cultures and languages. Tea/coffee and snacks available, 4:30 PM – 5:30 PM at the main library’s Pönkki space (HAMK, library, Finnish Red Cross, and SKY)
Friday, March 21
- Mama’s Family Café: An open meeting place for the whole family. Children can get to know each other and adults can enjoy a cup of hot drink. Kumppanuustalo, 9:30 AM – 12:30 PM (Hämeen Setlementti)
Saturday, March 22
- Influence-ARX Saturday event: children and families can engage in opinion influencing. At the Town Hall from 10 AM to 2 PM
