Registration is voluntary, but binding
- You may choose whether to register your child.
- If you register your child by 20 March 2026, you cannot cancel the registration after this date.
- If the student starts the lessons, they must attend for the whole school year.
- A student cannot join the teaching in the middle of the school year if they were not registered on time, unless there is room in an existing group.
- If your child moves to another municipality during the school year, you can: cancel the teaching or apply for a new mother tongue group in the new municipality.
Information about mother tongue class
- Teaching is arranged if at least 4 students register for the same language and a teacher is available.
- Students from different grade levels may be in the same group.
- Lessons take place outside the regular school day, 2 × 45 minutes at a time.
- Lessons may be held at another school, not necessarily at the child’s own school.
- Parents are responsible for the child’s travel to and from the lessons. The municipality does not pay for transportation and does not arrange it.
- The teaching is free of charge.
