Responsibilities

Please note that the Municipal Integration Promoting Service is not social work and it doesn’t deal with social benefits either. In social matters, please contact the OmaHäme service: Services promoting integration – OmaHäme (omahame.fi) . If you need help with benefit matters (Kela), please contact Kela: Kela’s customer service | Private customers | Reel

Initial assessments and integration plans

Experts carry out initial assessments and integration plans for foreign-language speakers who are outside the labour force, such as parents staying at home with children, pensioners and students.

In the initial assessment, we find out about the person’s background and current situation in terms of skills studies and work.

The purpose of the integration plan is to agree together with the person how to promote their own integration process, for example by participating in group activities, Finnish language groups or information sessions.
