January 19 is Flag Day in Hämeenlinna
The City of Hämeenlinna flies the Finnish flag on its properties annually on the city’s birthday. Alongside the Finnish flag, the regional flag may also be flown in accordance with current guidelines.
Residents and businesses are also encouraged to fly the Finnish flag on the city’s birthday.
The flag-flying tradition originates from an initiative by City Councillor Antti Ahonen and others, which was approved by the City Board in August 2020.
