Labour protection
In Finland, much attention is paid to health and safety at work. Employers are responsible for everyone’s safety while they work. An employer must organise induction to the workplace for a new employee. An employer also has an obligation to familiarise employees with the safety instructions of a workplace and to teach them the correct work methods.
Employees themselves must also ensure safety at work. The work must be performed according to instructions. If the work is clearly dangerous, an employee can refuse to do it.
For more information on health and safety at work and the safety and health authorities, see InfoFinland website.
