A vocational education and training course will give you a vocational qualification. You can then go to work, or apply for further studies at a university of applied sciences.

You must follow the correct application procedure to study for a vocational upper secondary qualification. Most schools use the joint application system. The joint application procedure takes place twice a year: if your course starts in the autumn, you should apply in the spring. If your course starts in January, you should apply in the autumn. If you do not have a Finnish basic education certificate, you can apply through the discretionary admissions.

Many schools also have rolling admissions for those who have already completed a degree or who have acquired skills in the workplace.
