Autumn Holiday in Hämeenlinna

In week 42 (Sep. 13th to Sep. 19th, 2025) schools are closed for autumn holiday.
During the autumn holiday week, Hämeenlinna offers various events and activities for young people and families with children. 

How to spend the autumn holiday in Hämeenlinna

Hämeenlinna City Museum has two places to visit: Museum Skogster and Palander House. There is fun for people of all ages. During the autumn holiday week, Hämeenlinna libraries also have interesting activities for children and young people. You can keep eye on the Hämeenlinna Youth Services website and social media channels for autumn holiday program for young people.

October 10–14: PomppuMaailma

The indoor playground PomppuMaailma is coming back to Hämeenlinna! For five days, Säästöpankki Arena will turn into an adventure park with bouncy castles and fun games.

October 11–19: Hovinarrin tupa – Häme Castle

At the Hovinarrin tupa, children can learn about medieval history by playing and doing. They can build a castle wall, ride a toy horse and try on medieval clothes.

October 11: Children’s Saturday: Molli ja maailman ääri – Hämeenlinna Theatre

Molli ja maailman ääri is a play based on a popular children’s book. The story is about friendship, missing home and being brave enough to explore the world.

October 13–19: Family Orienteering – Hämeenlinna Sports Halls

Families can enjoy a photo orienteering activity around the Hämeenlinna Swimming Hall area. You can get the instructions and maps at the swimming hall cashier.

October 18: Family Movie Day – BioRex Cinema

BioRex shows family movies once a month for a special low price. There are new children’s movies.

October 18: Children’s Saturday: Paper Doll Workshop – Hämeenlinna Art Museum

Children’s Saturday takes families to enjoy music and art. You can join a self-guided workshop where you make and colour paper dolls all day. Families can also take part in a storytelling music adventure during the day.
