Cross country skiing
There is about 300 km of tracks for skiers in Hämeenlinna. All of them are maintained which means that they are well prepared for skiing.

Notice, however, that “ei käytössä” means “not in use”; “kunnostettu” means “maintained”

Downhill skiing
If you wish to enjoy downhill skiing in Häme region, you can check Kalpalinna in Janakkala www.kalpalinna.fi or Kalpalinna Ski Center – Visit Häme (visithame.fi)/ or Sappee, winter sports resort: www.sappee.fi
Skating
Skating rinks are open in many places in Hämeenlinna if the weather conditions are suitable.
For example, a big skating rink is located near Säästöpankki Areena (link to google map). The rink is lighted until 9 p.m.

Sledding
Popular sledding hills can be found in Ahvenisto recreational area or smaller hills in the city park.
Have you tried kick sledding yet? If not, you can try the kick sled for free at Alajärvi lake. There are 100 sledges that you can freely use. In addition, there is a pole sled on the ice. Note! The route is kept open by volunteers depending on the ice situation and is open only when ice on the lake is sufficient for safe winter fun. The sled park is located at Välläntie 165, Hämeenlinna.
