The Elderly Week 2026

The Elderly Week will be celebrated from 5–11 October 2026 under the theme Everyday Encounters. The week is organised by The Finnish Association for the Welfare of Older Adults.

The Elderly Week aims to raise awareness of older people, their well-being, rights and position in society. It also seeks to promote appreciation for older generations and encourage people of all ages to meet, connect with and support one another.

During the Elderly Week, various events are organised across Finland, including celebrations, sports and cultural activities, and lectures. These activities aim to reduce loneliness and strengthen the participation and inclusion of older people in society.

You can read more about the Elderly Week in Finnish or English on The Finnish Association for the Welfare of Older Adults.
