Mother tongue classes

Mother tongue classes begin in September.

Morning and afternoon activities

Pupils in grades 1 and 2, as well as pupils in special education of grades 1 to 9, can participate in morning and afternoon activities.

School transport

School transport is arranged when the distance to the local school is more than 5 km. School transport is arranged for preschoolers or 1st-2nd graders if the distance is longer than 3 km.

The MunApp – school transport application

Students who travel by taxi will now see their school transport routes and schedules in the MunApp application. You can use the app either through a web browser at munapp.kuntalogistiikka.fi or by downloading the app to your phone. You need to register for the app using your phone number. Please make sure that your child’s information is set up correctly.

Commuting by bus to school

Remember to load your Waltti travel card either Waltti online store or at the Hämeenlinna City Information service point Kastelli.

Leisure activities

  • Harrastus ihan lähellä /Get Active Near You – free hobbies for primary and secondary school children
  • Sports “Lukkari” offers free sports activities for 5th-9th graders.
  • Nuorisopassi (Youth pass) for all 5th-9th graders in Hämeenlinna.
  • Mama’s Café – Hämeen Setlementti ry (hameensetlementti.fi)
  • ARX Open Cultural Centre organises various events for children. Everyone is welcome!

  • Sportti Festarit – sports fair for 5th-9th grader
